Akross page: < Snowcrash - Mind the Gap >This AMV is my second AMV created specially for the TGS contest in November 2008. A theme was imposed : Underground.
I have mixed Live Action (Night Watch, Dedales) and Anime (Blood the last Vampire) to illustrate this theme. I don't know if you will like the the mix between the two sorts of videos but I have created a video with few effects and a better editing than my first clip Appleworld (I wish).

Совместить фильм и аниме удалось. Атмосфера - очень такая прям хорошая. Единственное что без масок персонажей было бы на мой взгляд гораздо лучше.

fantastic. loved every second of this one (: but imo some scenes don't look quite good together. maybe it's because of the color gamma? for example a yellow colored frame is followed by a dark blue one. I found it strange. also, the repeating fragments of the video should be removed. I know you used them to tighten up the atmosphere, the intrigue, it's good, but I'd rather add similar variety, than leave the doubles. but what the heck? this vid grabbed me by the hand and dragged me all over that big metropolis of yours 
I almost felt the chills ^^" good job.

The idea of running 2 stories side by side is very nice, kudos to your creativity! But idea is a framework that is supposed to support something. To have a masterpiece you need either cool insides or outsides, some beautiful content or form.Two killings on a subway, with no goal or reason, is not much of a story. So no insides. Then it must be presentation that blows viewers away. Something very cool looking or amazingly twisted together.
Let's look at the twisting. There was some mutual permeation, but not much. Characters' cutouts were put over each other trains, then the tv thing at 0:55, and that horrible Saya in a real train at 1:28. What else? Parallelism. The really cool parallelism you've got between 1:06 and 1:18, when girls are buying their weapons. They even turn their heads to each other. Very nice! But the climax scenes are really out of balance. RL movie is very slow, and no slicing-dicing editing can conceal that. RL girl slowly walks, aims and shoots someone in the crowd while Saya runs very fast and slashes a single guy. Totally different, no parallels. And the timing is off too, at 2:04 Saya is still running to the guy while RL girl is already done and over, and we are shown some unknown cloaked figure walking in the rain. Wait, what? Rain in a subway? It doesn't make any sense to me that someone (whose face I cannot see) is walking in the rain between a girl shoots someone on a subway train and drags a body out of the said train.
So, my opinion is: a nice idea but the execution does not keep up to it.
P.S. Why does Saya go back at 1:04. Looks like you were out of footage and had to close a gap with something, because it's the only backwards scene in the whole video.

Actually I've created this 2nd AMV in 3 weeks just for the TGS with the Underground theme.
So the time was a little short for me.

Yeah it was to mark the synchro but like you an editor on AMV-france told me about the girl under the rain during the Saya's kill in the metro (no sense). Bad editing and bad link between the two sources.

I would to show a flash back : Saya is going to the metro station. And there is the go back sequence then a black and white sequence (weapons buying). This B&W sequence is the past when the two girls have bought weapons before the massacre in the metro.

Thank you very much for your opinion. It was very constructive for me. It's very appreciable to get english comments from russian people.

I see. That makes sense, and I am the one who usually doesn't get such moves. But the other thing about that scene is that it's used too many times. Forward, back to past, forward to present, and again in the end. Does she come out of the subway now? Because she goes in the exact same direction.

Good work. Original idea, well-chosen music and video - I like it.
